AHTA Gala to announce Anguilla’s winners
Friday marks the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association’s annual gala, a soiree bringing together all of the individuals that comprise the rather expansive tourism network on the island. As a part of the event, honors will go out for a few distinct categories: Hotelier of the Year, Supervisor of the Year and Employee of the Year.
A few weeks back, we handed in nominations for Supervisor of the Year and Employee of the Year. As anyone who has visited the Frangipani can attest, nominating a single employee is a tough task. Each employee adds incredible valuable to the resort and brings their own spirit and personality to the game.
Ezzy Richards, our Maintenance and Operations Manager, has been nominated for the prestigious Supervisor of the Year title, an award that went to our very own office manager, Susan Brookes, just a few years back. Ezzy’s face is a familiar one to every guest that passes through the Frangipani. His personality is upbeat and astoundingly infectious. Beyond his veritable bartending skills at our weekly manager’s cocktail parties, his maintenance work behind the scenes keeps the resort operating at peak all year round.
For Employee of the Year, the Frangipani was proud to nominate Kishon Griffin, an up-and-coming star at the resort who’s ambition and hard work don’t go unnoticed. Kishon has worked as a houseman and has been honing his maintenance skills while working under Ezzy’s tutelage. Beginning this year, Kishon has accepted a new supplementary role, training as a butler for Frangipani-managed Aquamarie at Kamique, a luxury villa in Anguilla’s Little Harbour. Much like Ezzy, he brings dedication and ambition encased in a glowing personality that boosts everyone’s spirits at first glance.
Winners for the awards will be announced tomorrow, December 6th, at the AHTA Gala at Viceroy Anguilla. We’re rooting for all of our nominees, individuals that we believe are truly some of the best employees and people on the island!
