Why off-shore cay exploration is Anguilla’s #1 experience
We’re continuing our Local Insights series and are excited to share more thoughts straight from local sources. During this series, we’re talking with our staff members individually to get their thoughts on must-try dining, favorite experiences, island secrets, plus what makes the Frangipani a unique experience. Candice Richardson, a concierge at the Frangipani Beach Resort, dishes on her favorite restaurant and explains why off shore cays are a must.

What’s your favorite thing about Anguilla?
The unforgettable tranquility of the island. Being in Anguilla is like waking up in paradise every day. Everyone gets along like family here. The beaches are at your door step and the scenery is beautiful.
What do you think makes the Frangipani a unique experience for guests?
The size of the property enables us to get to know each guest by name, plus the staff are all remembered and referred to by their names. We make guests feel at home here — everyone is treated like family at the Frangipani.
What do you think is the island’s best kept secret?
Savannah Bay! Savannah Bay is not as touristed as other beaches and has calm water for swimming and snorkeling. Plus, with the numerous palm trees there’s plenty of shade.
When it comes to dining, what’s your favorite restaurant on the island?
Flavours Restaurant. The food is the best and the service is unmatched. The view of Road Bay and Sandy Ground from the restaurant is spectacular.
When it comes to must-sees and attractions, what are your top recommendations for guests?
1. The Heritage Collection — It’s a museum that exhibits great pieces of Anguillian history. This is a great way for visitors to learn about where Anguilla came from and how it got to where it is today.
2. Little Bay — Accessible only by boat, it’s secluded and perfect for a quiet, relaxing day at the beach.
3. Dolphin Discovery — Enjoy a day swimming with the friendly dolphins
What do you think is the #1 thing a guest should experience?
A day on the sea. Take a trip to the various off shore cays; Sandy Island, Prickly Pear, Scilly Cay. They’re all great spots for snorkeling and seeing the beauty of Anguilla’s shoreline.
